Memorial Day Weekend Boo Boo's

Yesterday, after taking Tater to the beach and then out to eat with friends, we decided to visit a local AWESOME park before we headed home.  The weather was actually "cool" and Tater was loving climbing on everything.  (I have pics from our evening that I will share later.)  It was a perfect evening......until...

...he bumped his head while climbing on some of the equipment.  He cried for about 20 seconds or so, was comforted, and then he went back to playing.  He played with Daddy for a while and then I decided to go swing with him on the big kid swings.  We were swinging and after a few minutes, I decided to face him towards me and when I did, I noticed that there was a little blood on his eyelid.

Yes, my kid is the kid who will cut his eyelid on a Sunday night on a holiday weekend.  When EVERYTHING is closed except for emergency rooms.

We texted a picture to our parents and spoke with the on call doctor at his pediatrician's office.  We decided, after listening to the advice from the doc and our parents, to take care of it ourselves.  Because it had stopped bleeding on it's own (within minutes of it happening), didn't swell too much, and sitting in the emergency room for hours on end for something that probably didn't even need stitches wasn't how I really desired to spend my night, we headed to a CVS and performed some first aid in the parking lot.
Some cleaning, neosporin, and two butterfly bandaids later, he was good to go.  After his nightly milk, he was passed out on the way home and didn't wake up until this morning.

It's a little swollen this morning, but has already scabbed over and isn't causing him any pain.  As soon as I can get a decent pic, I'll post one.

Sunday Afternoon

Since I had my camera with me at church, I decided to take a few pics of the Tater after church was over.

Hanging out with daddy!

(Daddy's shirt is wet from baptizing two of our youth at church!  How awesome is that!!!)

Then he went up on stage and got to play with the drum sticks.

I got Dave to take a few pictures of Tater and I when we were at home.

Me and my boy!
(I just happen to be tickling his leg in this pic!)

Little Bug's Birthday

Today, Tater went to his first "big kid" birthday.  Little Bug has officially turned 2!!!

I think I scared Little Bug's mommy when I said big kid.  I should have said Tater's first friend party.  :)

The party was in a local park and Tater loved playing!  It was HOT, but he didn't care one bit.

The birthday girl.

 Singing Happy Birthday.

Love this picture of Elaine and Little Bug.

Cupcake time

Tater was patiently waiting for his cupcake.

Such a sweet little girl.

Time to swing!

He loves to slide.

Riding on daddy's shoulders.

Look, Tater, there's Daddy!

Let's wave to him!

Happy Birthday, Little Bug!  So glad we were able to be a part of your special day.
